Rarely Does a Wedding Dress Fit Perfectly Off the Rack

In all my years of altering wedding gowns, I’ve rarely met a bride whose dress fits perfectly off the rack-and that’s completely normal. (Seriously, I can count on one hand and considering how long I’ve been in bridal that says a lot)

Wedding gowns are made using standard sizing not your unique measurements. Many brides are measured when they order their gown and bridal consultants use your measurements to determine the best standard size to order. That means that if you’re a different size in your bust than in your waist or hips, you will need the gown adjusted to your own unique shape and proportions. Whether it’s the hem, bodice, straps, or bustle, most gowns will need a few adjustments to achieve that beautiful, custom fit.

Alterations are about tailoring your gown to fit you. My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful in a gown that looks and feels as though it was designed just for you.
